On popular demand from several Indian institutions, we have temporary opened late abstract submission window till 30th March 2018.

However we are only accepting submissions against few available slots for poster/ oral presentations and IDEATHON contest. We are no longer accepting abstract/ proposals for workshops/ panel/ symposium/ plenary topics.

Abstracts Submission Instructions

  • Abstract Late window submission extended till 31st March 2018.
  • Abstracts must be in English.
  • Submitted abstracts must be original. Abstracts previously published or presented at an international scientific meeting cannot be submitted.
  • Fill in the submitting author's name and e-mail address properly - these contact details will serve for further correspondence with the author(s).
  • Each delegate can present up to 5 (five) activities although he might be as a co-author in more than five.
  • Please indicate the appropriate congress topic.
  • The abstract title should have no more than 20 words.
  • The maximum length of the body of the abstract for an oral presentation, poster presentation and workshop is 250 words. Tables and/or pictures are not accepted as part of the abstract.

Formats for Poster and Oral Presentations

Oral Presentation and Poster Abstracts shall include three sections

  • Introduction and Objective
  • Method
  • Results and Conclusions

Note: Approved abstracts may be presented in Portuguese, in English or Spanish. Oral sessions will not be translated

Process Steps for the abstract submission

  • Submit Scientific activities apart from oral presentation and poster presentation which are.

  • Select your abstract topic according to main theme of your presentation. The list of topics can be found under the item TOPICS - below in this same text
  • Abstracts shall include two sections:
    • Justification (please explain the purpose) and
    • Content (please explain how to conduct the activity and the topics to be discussed)
  • The abstract title should have no more than 20 words
  • The abstract body should have no more than 250 words
  • Please indicate three keywords (MeSH terms only)

Disclaimer - Conflicts of interest: All authors should declare their competing interests in the abstract submission platform, mentioning whether there was support from any organization for the submitted paper, financial relationships with any organizations that might have an interest in the submitted paper in the previous three years and/or relationships or activities that could appear to have influenced the submitted work.


Each abstract will be anonymously assessed by more than two reviewers, according to the following scoring grid:

  • Contribution to the scientific aspects of the primary health care or family medicine discipline
  • Contribution to the primary health care or family medicine practice
  • Compliance with abstract submission guidelines
  • Clear language

Rules for preparation of Oral presentations

  • Participants will be given the opportunity to present their research in short oral presentations.
  • The duration of the presentations will takes 10 minutes.
  • The presentations can be held with a multimedia projection, the same can be with the PowerPoint software.
  • In case of an impossibility of the author to present the abstract, the co-author can present as long as this one be properly registered.
  • Each session will involve presentations with the same subject.
Digital Poster

Rules to prepare Digital Posters

  • Scientific papers in Digital Poster format will be presented. Computers will be located in the hallway
  • Posters must contemplate a synthesis of the scientific paper, containing the following items: title, authors, institution, introduction, objectives, methods, results and conclusions. The digital poster file must be created in PowerPoint. The paper should have only one slide.
  • How to format the file in PowerPoint:
    • Page Setting: design - Page setting - slide sized for presentation - customized screen 19.58cm height x 26.99 cm width - landscape orientation.
    • To save: save as - other formats - "PNG" format
    • Next is a suggestion of text distribution, necessarily in a single slide

Panel (1hours)

A panel discussion is a situation in which a group of people are gathered together to discuss an issue, often to provide feedback on something, to brainstorm solutions to a problem or to discuss an issue of public concern in front of an audience. As it is defined as discussion, most of the panel should be a conversation. Panel moderator should lay out the main topics and the fields of discussion for the audience. Panelists should only use slides in order to present key figures, photos or graphics in their field of expertise. The moderator should follow the timing of the session carefully and make sure all topics are discussed within the time limits.

Symposium (20-30 minutes)

A Symposium is a formal meeting at which experts discuss a particular topic. Information about different aspects of the topic considering the best evidence and state of art should be provided within the symposium. The speakers should prepare proper slides to assist their presentation within the specified time limits.

Workshop (45mins-1 hour)

A meeting at which a group of people engage in intensive discussion and activity on a particular subject or project, by emphasizing on exchange of ideas and the demonstration, and application of techniques, skills, etc. As it is defined, Workshop may have a small presentation but that is all, most of the time should be used for group discussions relevant to the workshop questions and at the end the result of the discussions should be reported.
